Leads performance optimization while maintaining governance oversight of Medical Launch KPIs, including & MSL core contributions and productivity in Big 4 & overview of 2 clusters (Western European Cluster & South East Russia and Central Europe Cluster)
Responsible for ensuring the Global brand strategies and action plans integrate critical needs of Region Europe, resulting in fit-for-purpose medical content to be used by medical teams in the Region.

About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Ensure launch preparation excellence in Medical Affairs across Big 4 and support Launch Readiness review for priority product with clos collaboration with Medical International
- Collation of region-specific insights (e.g.: HCP insights but also clinical package gaps) where appropriate (Big 4 + 2 clusters) to feed International teams analysis & strategies co construct with Big 3 (Germany, China Japan) and 2 others region (LACAN & APMA)
- Develop lean processes that will facilitate the effective collaboration between RE Medical teams in the countries (mainly Big 4)
- Elaborate, track and analyze Regional Medical Launch Key Performance Indicators with special focus on the extent of impact on external Medical Experts and other key healthcare system stakeholder (Big 4 + 2 clusters)
- Identify the needs of Medical Affairs capabilities in countries to sustain a fully aligned, result-oriented, highly effective medical organization across Region Europe
- Ensure excellence in early stakeholder engagement to enhance collaboration and co-creation and establish Novartis as a trusted partner to the medical community
- Align country medical resource deployment and budget to key regional priorities
- Provide appropriate guidance on Novartis medical standards and policies to ensure that local medical plans in RE are ethically and legally compliant and proactively mitigate risk
- Talent Development: coach medical associates working on key Medical Launches
Ideal background:
Preferably MD, minimal Veterinary MD, PhD or Pharm MD
Experience/Professional Requirement:
- At least 10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Industry in roles of increasing responsibility, with significant senior leadership experience in Medical Affairs
- Experience in country role (Medical Director of TA or country). Strong knowledge of key Region Europe markets and/or HTA based markets.
- Experience in regional roles is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to lead, engage and inspire science-driven teams and organizations
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Experienced leading in a matrix environment
- Drive for innovation and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills
- Experienced across multiple Disease Areas, preferably including oncology and other specialty pharma
