#  青光眼——沉默的视力窃贼 

青光眼是不可逆性致盲的首要病因；这种疾病通常没有任何症状，进展过程难以察觉，晚期可致盲

**青光眼是一种进展性眼疾，常被比作“沉默的视力窃贼”，影响着全世界超过**6000万的人口。由于该病经常没有任何症状，难以被察觉，以致很多人可能不知道自己患病，因而导致永久性、不可逆的视力丧失。预计未来青光眼的确诊人数将会持续攀升：到2020年患青光眼的人数将达7600万，2040年将达1.11亿1。

青光眼的病因尚不明确，但眼内压升高被认为是风险因素之一。目前，针对该疾病尚没有治愈方法，但早期诊治可以延缓疾病的进程。定期眼部检查对于青光眼的诊断至关重要。青光眼给个人、家庭和社会造成了沉重的负担和深远的影响。这意味着提高疾病认识、加强疾病教育正变得越来越重要。

为了看清全球青光眼的严重形势，同时也为了更好地了解公众对这一疾病的认知，2016年5月，诺华在世界5个国家的5000名成年人中开展了一项调查，结果令我们大感吃惊。接受调查的人群当中，尽管百分之九十认为每年做眼部检查很重要，但实际每年接受眼部检查的人数却只有三分之一。
